The whole scenario is solvable only if the launchers are free again by the time the UAVs arrive inside the short ring. That is achieved by shooting the jets at the very first moment the system offers a valid solution at long range. The operator's rule is to fire when the system permits it — when the target is within system capability and a solution exists — not to hold for a better picture. Jets are prioritised over UAVs not because they are closer but because they close fastest: they consume the timeline. Every second of delay on a jet commitment is a second the two-rockets-in-the-air limit is still occupied when the UAV wave crosses the short-range ring. Holding for a better shot, or clearing the nearest UAV first, feels tidy but it pushes the jet engagements later and cascades into a broken queue. Waiting for the Unknowns to be resolved before firing at anything confuses two separate problems: identification is referred up in parallel, it is not a gate on engaging tracks already classified Enemy.
